This week, I decided to get a little aggressive with the state of things in KC. There is no doubt our community has been progressing and growing, but it is time we take things to the next level. If you want to sit down and hash some of it out with us, we will be talking about the state of our community and where we should focus our efforts in order to grow at Geek Night. Check the StartupKC Facebook group for details or ping me on Twitter.

First, sorry for the late digest this week. Let my experience serve as a warning: be careful when you eat giblets to make sure they were cooked at a high enough temperature. Second, I am always looking for good events to cover in the digest and good companies to cover for SPN. If you know of either, please email me.This has been on here for a few weeks, and I don’t plan to take it off anytime soon. This is the post Startup Weekend edition. We had a great turnout and some pretty interesting ideas. The space at Cerner was great, and hopefully everyone learned something about themselves and grew in their startup journey. If you were around on Sunday evening, you might have noticed we had a brief stop in from an out of town guest, David Hauser of Grasshopper. If you had a chance to meet him, shoot him a message on Twitter (@dh) and tell him thanks for stopping by.It is also Global Entrepreneurship Week. There are lots of quality events going on this week and we have lots of them here, but I would encourage you to keep your eyes and ears open for other things going on. If you hear about anything, make sure to share it.Last, if you haven’t seen the startup map that SPN has put together, take a look and submit your company. This is an idea that many of us have probably had over the years, and it is about time that someone actually did it. Kudos to them for taking it on. You can see the map here.
