Melbourne Jelly is a fortnightly co-working event where folks from all disciplines get together at a
pre-determined location and share a working environment.

 

Startup Weekend Melbourne ($99/$69 (Students) – Weekend Event)
When: Friday 04 Nov 11 at 6:30:00 PM
Where: York Butter Factory, 62-66 King Street, Melbourne

Startup Weekend is a non-profit, community-building event that brings together entrepreneurs of all backgrounds including software developers, marketers, designers, and other enthusiasts to start companies in just 54 hours. The participants that attend have 60 seconds to make a pitch (optional), the pitches are whittled down to the top ideas, and then teams form around the ideas to come out with several developed companies or projects. Finally, the weekend culminates with demonstrations in front of an audience of judges and potential investors.

What’s Going on in the Melbourne Startup Community

ACS Business Intelligence SIG (Free)

In their January report on Business Intelligence (BI), Gartner have outlined what they see as a growing shift in the BI market into two distinct segments: traditional report-centric BI and a self-service data discovery segment focussed squarely on the business user. This talk will look at why this split into these two distinct segments is happening, and how the differentiation will affect the market and the consumers of BI.

ACS Mob SIG Event: Mobile Application Web Development: A practitioners perspective (Free)
