Morning Vancouver! To those American expats among us, happy Thanksgiving day this Thursday! To @MayorGregor, congrats to winning your second term! Any mayor that checks out Startup Weekend the day after winning is fine by me! ;)

Speaking of Startup Weekend, this year’s turnout was unreal! Big congrats to local startup guy Michael Tippet and his team for driving it. Check out a list of the companies here as well as up to date info on Twitter with #vsw.

The two companies that sound the most interesting to me are http://jukenuke.com, a way to vote up/down live music at bars and http://socialbuzz.ca, a way to bring local event information together online.

There are so many great startup events this week I don’t know where to start — hackathons at Blenz as well as a Lean Startup 101 hack night, demo your products at Democamp 13, mobile strategies at MoMoVan, and finally ChangeCamp 2011 on the weekend!

Until next week folks!

Cheers,
Jon Chui
