This month, Enfold Systems’ Alan Runyan will lead the meeting and reveal a super secret Python project.

The Houston OpenCoffee Club gives you a chance to meet and chat with other entrepreneurs, techies, and investors in the Houston area in an informal setting over coffee.

This event is free and open to the public. The expo offers new companies with sustainable technology products across Architecture, Engineering and Construction industries a chance to introduce their innovations to investors and the Houston community.

I had a great time yesterday at the first Houston Code Camp at the Microsoft Center. I ran into a number of my digest readers and had a chance to catch up on what everyone is working on with their tech startups and ideas.

Earlier this week, I also had a chance to learn a new skill – live streaming via uStream and recording simultaneously to embed in a website. I was at SpaceUp Houston’s Commercial Spaceflight Panel Thursday and if you missed it, you can still catch the video on SpaceUp Houston’s website now – there are some great presentations by aerospace companies, many of which are recent tech startups.

This week I want to highlight a new event in Houston – the Door64 Hi-Tech Happy Hour on Tuesday night. This event has been very successful in the Austin area and this is the first time for Door64 to come to Houston.

What’s Going on in the Houston Startup Community

This week we have some really great events, including an opportunity to talk with Houston’s Mayor Annise Parker and find out what the city’s plans for small business and entrepreneurship are going forward. Then come out to Geek Gathering and wish Technology Bytes a very Happy 16th Birthday Friday night.

What’s Going on in the Houston Startup Community

This week is short on events and gives us all a little break after last week’s overloaded schedule. I don’t know about you all, but I am really looking forward to the upcoming 3-day Memorial Weekend.

Be sure to go check-out SpaceUp Houston June 25th at their upcoming 1-day conference where they will be developing a geo-location, space-focused mobile app/game called “SpacePoints.”

Happy Monday! This week is the Houston Technology Center’s annual Gala to celebrate entrepreneurship. I am so excited and honored to be able to attend this year’s Gala and see who the featured entrepreneurs will be.

I want to mention that next week, May 16th- 20th, is Celebrate Enterprise: a 4-day, multi-event celebration for C-level executives, business leaders, and entrepreneurs to share ideas, gather insight, and celebrate capitalism and the entrepreneurial spirit in Houston.

Coming up June 25th, SpaceUp Houston is hosting their 2nd SpaceUp event that will be a 1-day conference around creating a geolocation, space-focused mobile app/game called “SpacePoints”. They are currently seeking sponsors and registrants. If you know anything about mobile app development or want to help design the rules and structure of the game, then they want you!
