What’s Going on in the Cape Town Startup Community This Week

Heavy Chef (Free)

My good friend, Dave Duarte, UCT lecturer, and head of Ogilvy’s Digital Marketing Academy, is the guest speaker at the last Heavy Chef event of the year. He’s a fantastic speaker, (he’s been involved in Toastmasters a lot longer than I have), so try not to miss this one.

Where: Alba Lounge, Waterfront

A weekly event held by Silicon Cape to get Capetonians meeting one another and speaking about tech.

TechYizu Demo Day
TechYizu Demo Day takes place on June 18-19 in Shanghai. This is a great showcase to see some of the great ideas coming from startups in China today.

The goal of the TweetUp is to network with like minded people and discuss what’s going on in the technology space. We will have two short talks. The first will be a talk by Jeremy Webb from Ogilvy Digital about micro-blogging marketing and its impacts. The second will be a special launch of our new product that we feel will greatly help the industry.
