The big event this week is TEDxSMU. This event’s focus is on disruption. You can view the talks on site at SMU (for a fee), or you can save some cash (equity?) and use it for drinks and watch at one of the free viewing parties, and don’t miss the after, afterparty at Tech Church. Their parties are always a good time.In addition to TEDxSMU, you have Dallas iPhone, Startup Nights, and Dallas Startup Happy Hour. Seems like your networking bucket should be filled after this week.Get out there, make a difference.

What’s Going on in the Dallas Startup Community

Dallas iPhone – Mobile User Experience Design, In Practice
When: ·Mon Nov 28 – 7pm
Where: Rockfish Interactive, 3010 Gaylord Parkway, Suite 100, Frisco, TX

For the November meetup, Jason Bell, Director of UX for Rockfish, will show how User Experience design is formally integrated into iOS development, why it’s important and considerations to development, the tools of the trade, and examples of applications of mobile/iOS user experience design.

 

Startup Nights
When: ·Wed Nov 30 – 6pm – Thurs 2am
Where: Cohabitat, 2517 Thomas St., Dallas, TX

StartupNights is an open house, coworking, startup meetup, jam session, community gathering all rolled into one evening a week!

 

Dallas Startup Happy Hour

Where: Architel, 8350 N. Central Expressway, Dallas, TX

A large crowd, and good conversation. This month’s special guest will be Brad Hunstable, Founder & CEO of Ustream.tv.

 

TEDxSMU
When: ·Sat Dec 3
Where: SMU, Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre

Cost to view at SMU is $125, free viewing parties are available below. TEDxSMU brings together ideas and interesting people from around the world and around the corner. Should be a big, fun event.

Where: Texas Theatre – Oak Cliff, Tech Wildcatters – Uptown, AT&T Foundry – Plano

Sign-up for the FREE viewing parties for TEDxSMU! Texas Theatre in Oak Cliff, Tech Wildcatters in Uptown, and the AT&T Foundry in Plano are hosting viewing parties for the simulcast of TEDxSMU on December 3 from 9AM-6PM (doors at 9; show at 10). All you have to do is register and show up. Food and drinks will be available for sale at both locations. Other than that, did we mention it is free?

 

TEDxSMU AFTER AFTER Party

Tech Church is the place to be for TEDxSMU December 3rd! Join the fun crew for some amazing talks on Disruption. They’ll have food trucks, local artists exhibiting, and of course the best bar in town! (Note the artists and food trucks may be there mostly during the day.).
