Five Across will be an informal gathering of entrepreneurs, investors and service providers from Lexington. Each Five Across meeting features presentations from local entrepreneurs who will pitch their ideas to a panel of judges for the chance to win $500.

South FL Game Development Meetup (Free)

David will be demonstrating some basic getting started techniques in game development: creating a simple character in Maya and texture it; animate a simple action; import the animation into a game engine and assign a key and movement to the action. Total time 30-40min.

Miami Java Meetup: Shallow Dive into Mercurial HG (Free)
August 31, 3:00 PM
Stephen Clark Govt. Center, 111 NW 1st St., Miami FL

Distributed source control management systems have become the norm for organizations and open source projects. The two big boys are GIT and HG. We will dive into the commands of mercurial from the command line and try to understand what they do. Later we will look at two of the most used tools to interact with mercurial if the command line is not your thing: Eclipse plugin and TortoiseHg.
