London StartupDigest – November 14, 2011

Below is an archived version of the London StartupDigest Events List – a weekly curated listing of the best tech startup events in London. If you would like to get next week’s digest on Monday, sign up here.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Every time people talk about The Valley, what makes it such a unique place and why entrepreneurship there blossoms like nowhere else in the world, you always here the words ecosystem, serendipity, knowledge exchange, support, etc. You always hear stories about entrepreneurs who have made it big and instead of spending the rest of their days sipping pina coladas on some exotic beach, they come back and build another successful company (maybe even two) or they share their experience (and money) as angels or VCs. This is something London has often been criticised for lacking.Well, for those of you who were with us at This Week in Startups London and/or StartupPoker last week, you’d agree that at least on Friday night, this could not be further away form truth. Both events were hosted and sponsored by one of the UK’s most established web companies. A company that now employs over 250 people and generates over £100m in revenues, but who’s founders have not forgotten that only 8 years ago they were also a startup. With that in mind, we’d like to thank Forwardfor being such a great supporter of the London startup scene and helping put on some great tech meetups!Happy Monday,
Dim’ & Kes
