Welcome to the Tokyo StartupDigest!

For everyone new to StartupDigest, this is an email digest where we find and highlight the top tech and entrepreneurship events from around Tokyo.

I just got back from Startup Weekend Tokyo event held in Mixi and was a happy to see so many Digest readers there. Thanks for joining us. At the event I met Wanami san who is the organiser for the lean startup Japan events in Tokyo. You can see the next event here. Really great to see there are more events focusing on lean methodology in Japan. Wanami san told me a bit about the future direction for this event and it’s an event you will want to pay attention to.

That’s all for now, btw, tell your friends about us. If you are organising a Startup related event, let us know and we’ll add you on the list too.

Jonny

Happy Monday!

I had a great time yesterday at the first Houston Code Camp at the Microsoft Center. I ran into a number of my digest readers and had a chance to catch up on what everyone is working on with their tech startups and ideas.

Earlier this week, I also had a chance to learn a new skill – live streaming via uStream and recording simultaneously to embed in a website. I was at SpaceUp Houston’s Commercial Spaceflight Panel Thursday and if you missed it, you can still catch the video on SpaceUp Houston’s website now – there are some great presentations by aerospace companies, many of which are recent tech startups.

Have an event you would like to add to the calendar? Or did you really love or hate one of the events from this last week? Let me know – send in your feedback, comments, suggestions, rants and raves to: sarah@thestartupdigest.com or @sarahmworthy on Twitter.
