What’s Going on in India’s Startup Community

TechSparks Regional Roundtable (Chennai)
When: June 25
Where: IC&SR Auditorium, IIT Madras

The Round Table intends to help startups get their products out of the garage and into the market.

Investment Forum (Bengaluru)
When: June 24
Where: ITC Royal Gardenia, Bengaluru

The forum will bring together more than 250 participants comprising CEOs, CXOs of large and mid-sized companies from South Indian states in addition to partners from private equity and venture capital funds and policymakers.

Aadhaar Developer Track (Bengaluru)
When: June 22
Where: Vivanta By Taj, MG Road, Bengaluru

Aadhaar Developer track will have Presentations and Demos by technology experts from UIDAI and Industry. You will have an opportunity to learn from the Technology experts, business and government leaders on how you can integrate with and innovate for the World’s largest Identity Platform and have all your queries answered in regard to Aadhaar Platform.

IBM Mentor Mela (Hyderabad)
When: June 25
Where: Badruka Institute of Foreign Trade, kachiguda Station road, Hyderabad

The Mentor Mela sessions are designed to provide entrepreneurs an opportunity to spend time one-on-one with three different mentors to discuss challenges that they are currently facing in their business.

Entrepreneur Dating (Various)
When: June 25-26
Where: Trivandrum, Chennai

This event aims to connect people who wish to start or join a venture with entrepreneurs and those who are looking for partners, team members and co-founders.

App2Fame Developer Challenge
Due Date: June 30

This is an open contest to develop SMS based mobile apps for anyone in India; startups, businesses, students, professionals – all can participate.

Now that you’re stuffed with delicious chocolates and plenty of free time, I’m sure you’re ready to dive straight back into work… Here are a couple of things coming up this week: There’s an Android meeting on Tuesday and another SCRUM meetup on Thursday this week, but be sure to be ready for NetProphet next week. The speaker line-up and attendance is looking very interesting.

What’s Going on in the Cape Town Startup Community This Week

Cape Town Android GTUG

Google Technology User Group is having an Android event and will also be officially launching the Android Developer Challenge in SA, so if you’ve got great apps to build, you should join.

Scrum User Group
When: Thrusday, 05 May, 2011 at 18h00
Where: Bandwidth Barn, 125 Buitengraght Street

How can contracts facilitate Customer interaction? Although “on the right” of the agile manifesto, the contract is a necessary foundation of a working relationship. If handled correctly a contract can bake agility into an engagement and make sure the principles are communicated to board level.
