A question that’s been going through my mind: what is one thing the Montreal tech community needs to propel itself to the next level?

This week, you’re spared having to go downtown for your startup events as they’re Sud-Ouest with NodeMTL and Plateau with Startup Drinks Montreal. Construction holiday, festivals and major works everywhere does not a happy commute downtown make!

Montreal StartupDigest is curated by:
Robin Ahn – Organizer, StartupDrinks Canada
Tara Hunt – CEO, Buyosphere

What’s Going on in the Montreal Startup Community

NodeMTL
Where: CakeMail, 4020 Saint-Ambroise, Suite 144
When: Tuesday, 26 July, 2011

At NodeMTL, Pascal will present us Kerouac, a real-time webapp featuring GPS tracking, a webcam and lots of Node.js magic. Jérôme will then present MongoDB and how to interact with it using Mongoose. Also, expect there to be beer.

Startup Drinks Montreal al Fresco
Where: Macaroni Bar Terasse, 4448 Boulevard St. Laurent (cnr Mont-Royal)
When: Wednesday, July 28, 2011, 6pm

Come make the best of the great weather while it lasts at the Macaroni Bar terasse. Talk tech in the open air as you find others to join in that next idea to change the world.
