What’s Next in Social? To 2012… And Beyond! (SMC Seattle)
When: Monday, December 12th from 6 to 9pm
Where: Microsoft Building 33, 16070 NE 36th Way, Redmond, WA

The last event of the year for Social Media Club Seattle will serve to recap some of the digital and social advances of 2011 and look forward to 2012. As with all SMC Seattle events, this is a great opportunity to network and hear from local experts in social media.

Put your heads together with dozens of entrepreneurs and students as they work to build an entire video game in 24 hours. The event includes mentors from Microsoft, F5, Stratos and more, and will serve to be both a crash course in video game design and an opportunity to pitch ideas and meet other passionate entrepreneurs.

What’s Going on in the Montreal Startup Community

Inerjys presents the first Cleantech drinks at Phillips Lounge – an occasion for anyone with a passion for environmentally friendly technologies.

This year’s startup community holiday party will be in support of Equiterre. Bring your old electronic and computer equipement so Equiterre can dispose and redistribute it in the best ways possible. The party starts at 9:30pm and is expected to late! Tickets are expected to sell out.

This one day un-conference brings together anyone interested in applying technology to the problem of mass transportation. There’s a hackathon and presentations throughout the day so anyone is welcome to attend this free event hosted by Living Lab Montreal.

Nodejs fans, rejoice! This hackathon starts with an evening of registration and workshop on Dec 16 and a full day of hacking on Dec 17th. Beginners are welcomed: we are also organizing a full 3 hours workshop the day before the event, where you will get a crash course on node.

Techmakers is for business folks with a stake in the IT world — either through their own business or the clients they serve. Each month, a cross-section of Indy’s most influential IT professionals gather to decompress, meet new people, learn something new, and share what they know with others. Cost is $10 for members and guests, and $35 for non members (guests may attend up to two meetings, events, or training sessions).


Matt Block, Director of Product Management at IASTA, will lead a User Story Writing Workshop. Food and prizes will be provided.

This group’s purpose is to share experiences and help each other along the path of being a software developer by day, and working on a side project or business by night. Many of us are unable to attend “regular” meetups due to conflicting schedules, so this meetup exclusively meets after 9PM.

However, one thing continues to grow: customers want their apps to have a better experience.
