I want to highlight PyTexas 2011 in Bryan, TX this weekend where you can learn more about developing in the Python programming language. Also, Thursday all day in Austin, TX is the first Austin Startup Bazaar. I’ll be there as a guest mentor/expert to help startup entrepreneurs with their business and marketing questions to prepare for their pitches.

What’s Going on in the Houston Startup Community
When: Tuesday September 6th, 2011 6:30PM
Where: 3200 Southwest Freeway, Suite 2900 – Houston, TX 77027
This will be a group brainstorm and mini-hackathon to develop an app on the Android platform. There will also be a demonstration of Android development tools and working with Eclipse settings.
When: Tuesday September 6th, 2011 7:00PM
Where: Cinco Ranch Public Library – 2620 Commercial Center Blvd. – Katy, TX
The Katy Tech Entrepreneurs will host guest speaker Donna McGill to talk about Startup businesses, blogging, and marketing in the new economy. Following the presentation, the group will have a round robin discussion on the Elevator Pitch for your new business.

The Austin Startup Bazaar showcases new and established Tech Startups quickly gaining traction. Startups will demo their products and pitch their businesses to investors, prospective partners, and those looking to work for a startup. There will also be a panel of experts to mentor new start-ups and 2 pitch sessions with expert feedback to help prepare these companies for pitching to investors.
The Houston Lean Startup Circle meets to discuss the concept of minimum viable product (MVP). You will learn what exactly is an MVP, how to determine features for an MVP and more.
When: Saturday September 10th and Sunday September 11th
Where: Texas A&M University in College Station
PyTexas 2011, the fourth annual Python programming conference for Texas and the surrounding region, will take place Saturday September 10 and Sunday September 11, 2011 at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.
