Good Morning, Toronto Startups and Entrepreneurs!

Last week we heard Google+ reached more 10 million users. If you haven’t heard of Google+, please come out from under that rock! I’ll be interested to see if Google can finally get social right.

This week there are a few events to keep you busy – I’ll be hanging out at the GROW Conference Pre-Party on Tuesday. There will be a great CVCA event about Building Strategic Partnerships with a GREAT panel; there will also be a number of great speakers at this week’s CrossMediaTO. Toronto StartupDigest readers were also given a special rate to attend GROW Conference in Vancouver, care of the C100 (AccelerateTO). What’s Going on in the Toronto Startup Community

Rails Pub Nite
When: July 18 at 7-11pm
Where: The Rhino, 1249 Queen St. West, Toronto, ON

RPN is free of cost and everyone interested in web development is encouraged to join us for a pint. Please note that this is a social event, not a user group. There are no technical demonstrations at Pub Nite.

Grow Conference Pre-Party
When: July 19 at 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Where: 314 Queen St. W, Toronto, ON

Jeff Musson from Dynamitenetwork.com, Soniya Monga from LinkedIn, Jonas Brandon & David Crow from Startup North are pleased to Co-host the Grow Conference “Pre Party” on July 19th at Ultra Supper Club, 6:00pm. This is an event and meetup for individuals and companies that are heading to the Grow Conference in Vancouver, on August 17, 2011. (We want to see people at this event from all over Southern Ontario.)

CVCA – Building Strategic Partnerships
When: July 20 at 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Where: Toronto Board of Trade, 1 First Canadian Place, 4th Floor, 100 King Street West, Toronto, ON

Join us for a roundtable discussion with seasoned investors and entrepreneurs who will share their perspectives on the value of developing key strategic partnerships with industry players in order to grow, innovate and ultimately exit their respective companies.

CrossMediaTO
When: July 20 at 6pm
Where: The Spoke Club, 600 King St. West, Toronto, ON

Each month we focus on one of the 5 key cross media sectors (motion, mobile, marketing, publishing, gaming). We find local speakers who are experts in their sector. We ask them to present, then discuss their business model, and take questions from the audience. The evening is about networking and knowledge sharing.

Ruby Hack Night
When: July 24 at 10am – 4pm
Where: Influitive’s Office, 457 Richmond St. West, Suite 200 Toronto, ON

If you haven’t been living under a rock for the past few months, you’ve probably noticed that Rails 3.1 is due to be released very soon. The Rails core team has announced a weekend hackfest to polish up Rails 3.1. Since this was so close to our hack night date anyway, we’re going to join the hackfest and host the live Toronto Rails 3.1 Hackfest. Details on the hackfest are here.
